Rent control and tenant protections across the United States

Our Data Sources

For San Francisco addresses, we use official property assessment data from the San Francisco Open Data Portal, the same database used by city officials, to determine construction year and key property details.

For New York City addresses, we use the official NYC Rent Stabilized Building Registry from the NYC Rent Guidelines Board to identify buildings with rent stabilized units.

For property data across the U.S., we combine property information from multiple sources including public records, property databases, and official registries to help identify which rent control or tenant protection rules may apply. Our property database includes data from official city and state sources, public records, and verified property databases.

Coverage is expanding as we continue to add more jurisdictions and data sources.
